We will apply a system approach to innovate the broiler production (all systems, i.e. with fast and slower growing strains), in order to make significant gains in terms of overall sustainability, with a focus on animal welfare (healthy chickens with natural behavior), prevention of stress and injury during catching, loading and transport to the slaughterhouse, low risks for public health and the environment (low emissions of dust, ammonia, endotoxins), minimizing food waste (by minimizing health problems and mortality in chickens and downgrades in the slaughterhouse) and improving economic returns for the entire production chain.
