Nowadays, food is not only appreciated because of its caloric value; food should be safe, healthy and tasty. Consumers dislike plastic packaging and are in favour food that is produced and transported in a sustainable way.
The objective of this project is to investigate the processes involved in postharvest water loss (transpiration) in ornamental and vegetable products, to develop new screening tools and apply these screen plant populations. The ultimate goal is to develop genotypes with an intrinsic high quality and improved control of postharvest water loss.
