Dairy products as part of breakfast: the DAYBREAK project
Several studies have shown that high doses of isolated dairy nutrients can support bone and muscle health, which in turn could improve general health. However, studies with mixed meals are more representative and may result in greater and/or additional benefits. This project will provide insight into the in vivo bioavailability and kinetics of key dairy nutrients derived from whole-food dairy products, ingested as part of a regular mixed breakfast meal. Moreover, the effects of adding dairy products to breakfast on postprandial blood glucose and bone metabolism will be studied.
