HeatYield – stabilising tomato yield in a warming world
Heat-induced yield loss is one of the major societal problems facing us in the coming decades. To be able to keep feeding the human population and for Dutch plant breeding companies to keep providing the top performing crop varieties, we need to get a grip on this problem. Furthermore, given the current societal focus on the impact of human consumption, preventing stress-induced crop losses is one of the routes that needs to be taken to reduce the environmental footprint of agriculture and improve sustainability.
