Recovery and Valorisation of Phosphorus compounds from Waste Water Streams using Magnetic Adsorption-Desorption (MAD)
Phosphorus compounds are present in the effluents of various agriculture, industrial, and domestic activities. They are scarce, cause eutrophication and should be reused in a circular economy. To remove phosphates, wastewater treatment plants commonly use chemical precipitation onto the sludge, but recovery is not common practice. This project aims to develop a process for the recovery and valorization of phosphates from municipal wastewater and process water streams from the food industry.
