Samenvatting

Botrytis cinerea causes gray mold in Rosaceae like rose and strawberry. As the disease is difficult to control by technical measurements alone, there is a need for more resistant varieties to reduce production losses and decrease chemical use. Breeding companies indicate that screening for resistance is time consuming and difficult to standardize. We aim to bring breeding for resistance to Botrytis in Rosaceae in The Netherlands to a higher level.
