In FUNCTILIGHT, functional light programs will be developed for fast- and slower growing broiler chicken flocks and layer pullets in a cooperation between light equipment developers, breeders, integrations, poultry farmers, and researchers. This will contribute to the development of innovative housing systems for broilers and layer pullets that enable chickens to perform natural behaviour, promote broiler and layer pullet welfare and guarantee production performance, and that thus increase the sustainability of the poultry sector.
